Allison Road’s crowd funding Kickstarter campaign is no more.Fear not faithful ones, for while it might seem that Lilith Studios, the team behind the game, are packing their travel bags – they are in fact moving over to British based digital publishers Team17 Digital Ltd. !
In a rather unexpected announcement that has taken their Facebook page by storm – the team expressed how this would guarantee them the support and resources that is indeed necessary in creating the game as per creator Chris Kessler’s vision.
A choice we fully support, yes – given that while its crowd funding campaign was very much called for by the game’s loyal supporters, chances of the campaign actually reaching its goal however seemed doubtful. With barely a week to go, the campaign stood at more than £100,000 short of its intended £250,000 goal.
Furthermore it only seems fair for Chris Kessler, given the incredible journey he’s been through to bring the game to fruition on his own.
Moving to a publishing label with games such as the acclaimed Worms and Alien Breed series under its belt only ensures that the team will be better able to devote all their available energy to creating the horror experience of this generation. Moreover, we just might be seeing that console port now, yes?
Allison Road tells the tale of an unnamed protagonist who wakes up one night to find their family missing without any recollection of events that might have caused their disappearance. Before the clock strikes 3 a.m and evil swamps their British Townhouse, players must uncover the whereabouts of their families, unravel the mysteries of the house all the while being stalked by unimaginably evil forces.
Nothing changes here however – Higher Eclectic Ground will indeed continue staying in touch with the development team, bringing you announcements and sneak peeks when the time is indeed right.
